Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio recommended)
- 1/2 cup peach schnapps
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust based on sweetness preference)
- 2 cups ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Additional sliced strawberries and peaches for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash strawberries and peaches under cold water. Hull strawberries and slice them into halves or quarters. Cut peaches in half, remove the pit, and slice into wedges. Peeling is optional.
- In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water (e.g., 1/4 cup each). Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves (3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a blender, combine sliced strawberries, sliced peaches, white wine, peach schnapps, and cooled simple syrup. Add ice cubes (start with 2 cups). Blend on high until smooth and slushy, scraping down sides as needed. Adjust thickness with more wine or water if necessary.
- Taste the slushie. Add more simple syrup for sweetness or a splash of lemon juice if too sweet. Blend again if needed.
- Pour slushie mixture into glasses, filling about three-quarters full. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and additional fruit slices for a decorative touch.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon. Enjoy the refreshing taste of summer! Store leftovers in the freezer and stir or blend before serving again.
Notes
- Feel free to experiment with different fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or mango for a unique twist.
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute wine and schnapps with sparkling water or fruit juice.
- To make frozen treats for kids, pour the mixture into popsicle molds and freeze.
