This Balsamic Baked Chicken Breast is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that transforms simple ingredients into a gourmet meal. Perfect for busy weeknights, it pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3–4 cloves freshly minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If they are thick, pound them to an even thickness of 1/2 to 3/4 inch.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried rosemary, dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Marinate the chicken in the balsamic mixture for 15-20 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
- Arrange the marinated chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish and pour any remaining marinade over the chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the baking dish from the oven, tent with foil, and let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
