  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. I like to have everything laid out on the counter so I can easily access them as I go.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt. If you’re using plain yogurt, this is where you can get creative with flavors.
  3. Pour in the honey or maple syrup. If you prefer a less sweet treat, you can reduce the amount or even omit it altogether.
  4. Add the vanilla extract if you’re using it. This step is optional, but it adds a lovely depth of flavor to the yogurt.
  5. Using a whisk or a spatula, mix everything together until it’s well combined and smooth. You want the mixture to be creamy and uniform.
  6. Now it’s time to add the fresh fruit. I love using a mix of berries for color and flavor, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand.
  7. Gently fold the fruit into the yogurt mixture. Be careful not to mash the fruit too much; you want to keep some of the texture intact.
  8. If you’re adding granola or nuts, fold them in at this stage as well. This will give your yogurt bites a delightful crunch.
  9. Grab your silicone molds or ice cube trays. Silicone molds are my favorite because they make it super easy to pop the bites out once they’re frozen.
  10. Using a spoon or a small spatula, fill each mold with the yogurt mixture. I like to fill them to the top, but you can leave a little space if you prefer.
  11. Once all the molds are filled, gently tap them on the counter to remove any air bubbles and ensure the mixture settles evenly.
  12. Place the filled molds in the freezer. Make sure they are level so that the yogurt doesn’t spill out.
  13. Let the yogurt bites freeze for at least 4 hours, or until they are completely solid. I usually leave them overnight to be safe.
  14. Once frozen, remove the molds from the freezer. Gently pull on the sides of the silicone molds to release the yogurt bites. If you’re using an ice cube tray, you may need to run warm water over the bottom to help them pop out.
  15. Store the frozen yogurt bites in an airtight container or a zip-top bag in the freezer. They can last for up to 2 months, but I doubt they’ll last that long!
  16. When you’re ready to enjoy them, simply take out a few bites and let them sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes to soften slightly. This makes them easier to eat.
  17. These yogurt bites make a fantastic snack or dessert. You can also serve them at parties or gatherings as a refreshing treat!

Notes

  • Experiment with different flavors of yogurt. You can use fruit-flavored Greek yogurt for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder to the yogurt mixture for a unique twist.
  • If you want to make them more indulgent, consider dipping the frozen bites in melted dark chocolate before refreezing them.
  • For a tropical version, use coconut yogurt and add pineapple chunks and shredded coconut.
  • Don’t hesitate to mix and match fruits and toppings based on what’s in season or what you have in your pantry.
