  • Oregano
  • Basil
  • Garlic powder
  • Unsalted butter (or olive oil or plant-based butter)

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Slice the bread and cheese, and have your pepperoni and sauce ready to go.
  2. Take two slices of bread and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on the inside of each slice. Layer with mozzarella cheese, a few slices of pepperoni, and sprinkle some Italian herbs on top. Add another layer of cheese, then top with the second slice of bread.
  3. Spread butter on the outer sides of the sandwich. This will help create a golden, crispy crust when grilled.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwich in the pan.
  5. Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on one side until it’s golden brown. Use a spatula to check. Flip the sandwich carefully, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, pressing gently to help it brown evenly.
  6. Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the pan. Let it cool for a minute before slicing.
