  • Author: Clara
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 glasses 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Blackberry Mimosa, a perfect blend of sweet blackberries and zesty orange juice, topped with sparkling wine. Garnished with mint, this delightful drink is ideal for brunch or celebrations, offering a beautiful and delicious experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 bottle of chilled sparkling wine (such as Prosecco or Champagne)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, add the fresh blackberries. If you prefer a sweeter drink, sprinkle the tablespoon of sugar over the blackberries.
  2. Using a fork or a potato masher, gently mash the blackberries until they are broken down into a chunky puree. For a smoother texture, use a blender or food processor.
  3. Set the blackberry puree aside. It can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days if made ahead of time.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh orange juice and the blackberry puree. Stir gently to mix.
  5. Pour the chilled sparkling wine into the pitcher with the juice and puree mixture. A good ratio is about 1 part puree and juice to 2 parts sparkling wine.
  6. Gently stir to combine, being careful not to lose too much carbonation.
  7. Fill champagne flutes or cocktail glasses about halfway with the blackberry mimosa mixture. Add ice cubes if desired.
  8. Garnish each glass with a few whole blackberries and a sprig of fresh mint.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choosing the Right Bubbles: Prosecco is a popular choice for its fruity notes, but Champagne or dry sparkling cider can also be used.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh blackberries and freshly squeezed orange juice for the best flavor.
  • Adjusting Sweetness: Taste the puree before mixing to find the right sweetness for your preference.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Feel free to add other fruits or flavored liqueurs for a unique twist.
  • Make it a Mocktail: Replace the sparkling wine with sparkling water or non-alcoholic sparkling wine for a delicious non-alcoholic version.
