Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large wheel of Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
- 1 package of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the Brie from its packaging and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet or a small cast-iron skillet.
- Score the top of the Brie in a crisscross pattern with a sharp knife.
- In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Drizzle in the olive oil and combine well. Optionally, add honey for sweetness.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Place the Brie in the center of the pastry and spoon the garlic herb mixture over the top.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the Brie, pinching the seams to seal tightly.
- Flip the wrapped Brie over so the seam side is down.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg with a splash of water to create an egg wash.
- Brush the egg wash over the entire surface of the puff pastry.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Allow the baked Brie to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
- Serve with an assortment of crackers or slices of baguette.
Notes
- Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before rolling it out for easier handling.
- You can customize the herb mixture based on your preferences or what you have on hand.
- For a more rustic presentation, consider using a cast-iron skillet instead of a baking sheet.
